The National Association of Urban Hospitals has asked members of the House of Representatives to vote against the American Health Care Act.

In a message to all House members, NAUH cited the increase in the number of uninsured the bill would lead to, its inadequate funding for state Medicaid programs, and its failure to rescind past cuts in Medicare payments to pay for the enhanced access to health insurance of recent years.

The letter also warned that all of these factors could lead to a loss of access to care in communities served by the nation’s private safety-net hospitals.
