Block an imminent $8 billion cut in Medicaid DSH allotments to the states, ASH has asked members of the House in a new message.

Absent action, Medicaid disproportionate share allotments to the states will be slashed $8 billion beginning on October 1.  Congress has delayed comparable cuts on a bipartisan basis for more than 20 years and now, ASH is asking House members to sign onto a bipartisan letter to House Speaker Michael Johnson (R-LA) and minor leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) urging them to ensure that such a devastating cut is prevented once again.

Medicaid DSH payments are a vital tool in helping community safety-net hospitals serve their many low-income and uninsured patients.
