ASH opposes a Medicaid work requirement that is included in a proposed House bill to raise the federal debt ceiling.
In a message to House members, ASH wrote that
There could not be a worse time for such a new requirement: the current unwinding of continuous Medicaid eligibility established in response to the soon-to-end public health emergency will result in as many as 14 million Americans losing their Medicaid coverage and access to health care…Now is not a time to increase further the number of Americans who lack access to care.
